ABUJA — The Federal Executive Council has approved the acquisition of two new high-throughput communications satellites, NIGCOMSAT-2A and 2B, the Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd said. Managing Director Jane Egerton-Idehen said the satellites will support broadband, broadcasting and government services and reach communities not covered by land-based networks. The cost was not disclosed.
