ABUJA — The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has issued four safety recommendations after its preliminary report on the 23 July runway overrun by an Enugu Air Embraer 170 at Benin Airport. The aircraft landed on a wet runway in moderate rain, overran the runway end and struck approach lights and old concrete structures. All 68 people on board escaped unhurt. The recommendations concern the runway end area, the control tower's line of sight and weather information. The report does not establish a cause.
