LAGOS — Nigeria's telephone subscriptions rose to 189.7 million in May 2026, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission. MTN had 96.98 million subscribers, a 51.19 per cent share, followed by Airtel with 65.45 million. MTN Nigeria's chief financial officer said the company spent N1.6 trillion on its network over 18 months.
