LAGOS — The 31 companies that won 37 oil blocks in the 2025 licensing round have begun paying their signature bonuses, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. Winners that miss the deadline will lose their bid guarantees and the blocks will go to reserve bidders. The bonuses range from $3 million to $7 million per block, down from a flat $10 million in 2024.
