ABUJA — Forty-three insurance and reinsurance companies have met the new minimum capital requirements under the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025, the National Insurance Commission said. Eight more firms filed just before the deadline and their applications are being verified, a process the commission said will be completed within 14 days. NAICOM described recapitalisation as the foundation, not the destination, of reforms in the sector.
