ABUJA — The Federal Government has paid severance benefits to 2,100 former workers of Nigeria Airways, with 600 more due in the coming days, bringing the total to 2,700 people and N18 billion, the Ministry of Finance said. The national carrier stopped operating in 2003 and was liquidated in 2004. Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele said the payments ended years of waiting for the families.
