ABUJA — The Federal Government has started paying additional exit benefits to retiring federal workers, the National Pension Commission said. About N1.1 billion has been paid to 175 retirees who left service between 1 January and 31 August 2026. Under the scheme, staff with at least 10 years of service receive one year's total pay on top of their pension. The 2026 budget provides N32.9 billion for it.
