ABUJA — The Auditor-General's 2024 report says N26.54 billion was not remitted from a 0.5 per cent levy for the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund in 2023, with N39.89 billion collected and N13.34 billion remitted. It also flags N12.47 billion of gas flare penalties not remitted. NMDPRA spokesman George Ene-Ita said the differences are due to timing and reconciliation, and that gas flare penalties are collected by the upstream regulator.
