LAGOS — The price of diesel is approaching N2,000 per litre, raising costs for Nigerian manufacturers. Emmanuel Onuorah of Premium Bakers told Daily Trust diesel cost about N800 a year ago and now sells for N1,800 to N1,900. The refinery owners' association said modular refineries produce about 35,000 barrels per day, while the Dangote refinery supplied about 19.1 million litres of diesel a day in July. Economist Marcel Okeke described Nigeria as a generator economy.
