LAGOS — Nigeria's plan to reach net zero emissions by 2060 requires about $400 billion above normal spending, or around $10 billion a year, and experts interviewed by Daily Trust say raising the money will be difficult. Analyst Kunle Odusola-Stevenson called for projects that lenders can finance. Minister of State for Gas Resources Ekperikpe Ekpo said reducing emissions should not come at the cost of development. The Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Tenioye Majekodunmi, called for blended finance, while environmentalist Nnimmo Bassey rejected gas as a transition fuel.
