ABUJA — Nigerians used about 1.6 million terabytes of mobile data in July 2026, up nearly 47 per cent from about 1.13 million a year earlier, the Nigerian Communications Commission said at a digital connectivity investment forum. The commission's Executive Vice Chairman, Aminu Maida, linked the growth to the 2025 tariff adjustment and to the designation of telecoms infrastructure as critical national infrastructure in 2024. Industry Minister Jumoke Oduwole said digital access is key to the government's goal of a $1 trillion economy.
