LAGOS — The Lagos State Government and Fenchurch Group plan to rebuild the 26-megawatt Akute Independent Power Plant, which supplies electricity to water works serving more than six million people. Energy Commissioner Biodun Ogunleye said capacity could later grow to between 100 and 200MW. Fenchurch said the project is being financed with support from Zenith Bank and that commissioning is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
