PORT HARCOURT — Nigeria will need eight new floating production, storage and offloading vessels by 2030 to reach the government's target of 3 million barrels of oil per day, according to Gwueke Ajaifia, Executive Director of the Oil Producers Trade Section. He said current output of about 1.6 to 1.7 million bpd must nearly double, which will require several deepwater final investment decisions. He spoke at an event marking the completion of pipe coating for Shell's $5 billion Bonga North project, which is expected to add 110,000 bpd at peak.
