ABUJA — The Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System has launched a National Payment Stack built on open-source technology from US firm Transactility and using the ISO 20022 messaging standard. NIBSS said it keeps control of the source code, reducing its dependence on proprietary vendors. The platform supports instant account-to-account transfers, QR code merchant payments, payments using phone numbers and bulk payments. Managing Director Premier Oiwoh said it was built for the scale of the Nigerian payments market.
