CFL Raises Alarm Over Disputed Land Title in Victoria Island

LAGOS — Construction company CFL has given the Lagos State Land Registry a seven-day notice over a disputed Governor's Consent on a property it bought in Victoria Island. Group Managing Director Lai Omotola told a press conference that another party arrived at the site with security personnel and claimed it after CFL had started building. He said a Governor's Consent is not a Certificate of Occupancy and does not cure defects in a title, and warned that banks have been deceived by cloned title documents.
