LAGOS — The International Finance Corporation says Nigerian banks should lend more to agriculture, which receives less than 5 per cent of commercial bank credit but accounts for more than 25 per cent of GDP. Olivier Buyoya, IFC Division Director for Nigeria and Central Africa, said post-harvest losses, poor storage and bad roads keep banks away, and that technology can help reduce these risks. He spoke ahead of the Africa Financial Summit, which will hold in Luanda, Angola, on 3 and 4 November.
