Tinubu Pledges to Lower Food and Transport Costs

ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has promised to reduce the cost of living by lowering the cost of producing and moving goods. In his Independence Day address, he listed support for mechanised irrigation, dry-season farming, seeds, fertiliser and storage, and better roads, railways and ports linking farms, factories and markets. He said gas will be used to power new industries and that a consumer credit scheme will help households buy vehicles, solar systems and devices. Tinubu acknowledged that many families still struggle with food, school fees and medical bills.
