ABUJA — The Auditor-General's 2024 annual report says the Federal Ministry of Communications paid N345.5 million twice for the same tranche of the mobilisation advance on the Abuja ICT Park project. The payments were approved in January 2022 and again in January 2023 with identical voucher references, during the tenure of Isa Ali Pantami as minister. The audit also flagged N447.67 million paid outside the government payment system and N1.85 billion paid without a performance bond on the N8.98 billion contract. The auditors said they were denied documents and recommended recovery of the money. The ministry did not respond.
