BANGKOK — The IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings opened in Bangkok with about 18,000 registered participants, with artificial intelligence, an energy supply shock and high debt at the top of the agenda. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said AI could affect about 40 per cent of jobs worldwide, including 60 per cent in advanced economies. The IMF says global public debt is at its highest level since the Second World War and will exceed 100 per cent of GDP before 2030. Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele is leading Nigeria's delegation, which will present investment projects to investors during the meetings.
