BANGKOK — Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele has outlined five reform areas the government is using to attract investors: agriculture and food security, power, regulation, inflation and data. Speaking at a Nigeria Investors' Forum during the IMF and World Bank meetings, he said food is a main driver of inflation and that the aim is to bring inflation to single digits and keep it there. He said a one trillion-dollar economy cannot be powered in darkness, and that the government estimates the cost of regulation to businesses exceeds the combined revenue from corporate tax, personal income tax and VAT. He said harmonised official data will be published on the finance ministry's website.
