ABUJA — A survey of NNPC filling stations in Abuja by ThisDay on 12 October found petrol selling at N1,370 per litre, down from N1,405 the previous weekend. The full discount of about N66 per litre was available only to customers using the NNPC fuel app, who paid N1,339 on 11 October. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN), through its spokesman Chinedu Ukadike, asked that independent marketers be included and that the 30-day scheme be extended to 60 days. Labour activists urged transport operators to pass the savings on to passengers. The government says NNPC is giving up its retail margin and that no public money is involved, while talks continue on a wholesale price ceiling of N1,350 per litre.
