NDC Accuses APC of Luring Its Candidates With Cash and Appointments

ABUJA — The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using money, appointments and other incentives to lure its candidates ahead of the elections.

In a statement on Tuesday, the party's National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said those who had defected were never genuine members of the NDC and described their departure as "good riddance". He said the party would rely on the Electoral Act 2026 to hold fresh congresses in the affected constituencies and choose replacement candidates.

The NDC spokesman described the ruling party's tactics as "the last kicks of a dying horse".

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, could not be reached for comment. A party chieftain who spoke without being named rejected the allegation and advised the NDC to put its own house in order.
