KANO — Supporters of the Kwankwasiyya movement marched peacefully in Kano on Friday to demand that INEC restore Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo to its final list. They were led by the party's deputy governorship candidate, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, and submitted a petition to the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abdu Zango. Zango said the reasons for the omission had already been communicated and that appeals are open until October 24. The NDC has also petitioned INEC, accusing a Kano official of issuing conflicting reports on its primary.
