AKURE — Several former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Ondo State are contesting the 2027 elections on opposition platforms. Tajudeen Adefisoye is running for Idanre/Ifedore on the SDP, Prince Idowu Mafimisebi for Ilaje/Ese-Odo on the PDP, and Matthew Oyerinmade for Ondo South Senate on the PDP. An analyst warned that votes could be split in close races, while the APC's spokesman told Daily Trust that supporters do not automatically follow defectors.
