ABUJA — Mascots promoting President Bola Tinubu appeared at major junctions in Abuja after INEC lifted the ban on campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections. Under the Electoral Act 2026, campaigns begin 150 days before polling day. A Daily Trust reporter saw mascots at Berger Roundabout, City Gate, the Federal Secretariat, Wuse 2 and the Central Area. In a video that went viral, one mascot said he was paid N80,000.
