BIRNIN KEBBI — Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has dropped his deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, as his running mate for 2027 and picked former Finance Commissioner Ibrahim Muhammed Augie. APC National Publicity Secretary Muhammed Suleiman Argungu said the decision followed legal advice and that Tafida consented. Sources linked the change to a 2023 tribunal case over Tafida's certificate. A party chieftain said ADC candidate Abubakar Malami might go to court.
