Rift in Adamawa ADC Over Claims Governorship Candidate Was Replaced

YOLA — A rift has emerged in the Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over claims that its governorship candidate, Suleman Umar, had been replaced on the INEC portal by Modibbo Hamman Tukur Ribadu, the pioneer head of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit. Former SGF Babachir Lawal, who backed Umar and has since left the party, alleged that the national secretariat gave in to pressure from Atiku Abubakar. Daily Trust found no governorship list posted at INEC's Adamawa office. Umar's campaign Director-General, Mark Wosi, insisted he remains the candidate, while party spokesmen did not comment.
