JOS — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Plateau State is split into three factions, each claiming the party's leadership, five months before the general elections. The rival groups are led by the pre-coalition chairperson, Hanatu Dogara; Dung Daweng Pam, who says he is the elected chairman; and a caretaker body linked to former Sports Minister Solomon Dalung. The caretaker group has set up a panel to probe the finances of the Pam faction, while the Pam camp accused Dalung of plotting to replace governorship candidate Brig.-Gen. John Sunday Sura (retd), a claim the caretaker body denied. A former ward chairman warned the division could cost the party the election.
