KANO — Senator Rufai Hanga, who represents Kano Central and serves as Deputy Senate Minority Whip, has resigned from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) with immediate effect. In a letter dated August 3 and addressed to the party chairman of Dakata Ward, Nasarawa LGA, Hanga cited careful reflection and personal commitments. His resignation follows meetings with Kano APC leaders and a recent visit to President Bola Tinubu with Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, fuelling speculation that he will join the ruling party.
