ABUJA — A founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Bayero Lawal, has sued the party, its Presidential Screening Committee and INEC at the Federal High Court, Abuja, over his inability to obtain nomination forms for the presidential primary. Lawal says he was refused the expression of interest and nomination forms after the party's National Working Committee waived screening for President Bola Tinubu in May. In the suit, filed through his lawyer, Basil Kpenkpen, he seeks seven reliefs, including a declaration that the N100 million form fee is illegal because the party constitution does not provide for it. He argues that every financially up-to-date member has the right to contest any office.
