Uwem Ite, head of Community and Government Relations at Oriental Energy Resources Ltd, has been elected chairman of the Governing Council of the Institute for Greening Education in Nigeria (IGEN). The council held its first meeting on October 6, 2026, after the institute's registration and federal recognition. Unyime Robinson was appointed executive secretary for an initial four-year term. The council adopted the IGEN Strategic Plan 2026-2030 and a work plan for 2026/2027. Ite said the institute aims to become Nigeria's leading institution for greening education and green skills.
