JALINGO — The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Taraba State University has begun an indefinite strike. The branch chairman, Joshua Mbave, said the strike is over the state government's failure to implement the 2025 FGN-ASUU remuneration agreement and salary arrears owed since January. He said N50 million in Earned Academic Allowances was promised monthly from February 2025, but only one payment was made. A previous strike in February 2026 was suspended in March under a memorandum of action. The government set up a new remuneration committee on September 30. The union said it remains open to dialogue.
