A five-month investigation by Premium Times says it could not verify any of the eight academic qualifications listed by Anthony Kila, the suspended Pro-Chancellor of Michael and Cecilia Ibru University. Kila's profile lists degrees from universities in Italy and the United Kingdom, from a bachelor's degree in 1989 to a master's in law from Cambridge in 2009. The University of Essex told the newspaper it never offered the postgraduate diploma Kila claims to hold. Kila said his documents 'will be ready soon'. In an earlier statement, he insisted he is a professor, said the reports reflected an incomplete understanding of his career, and said he had asked his lawyers to review legal options.
