ABUJA — Retired Lt-Gen Theophilus Danjuma will lead a N5 billion fundraising drive to restore Government College Katsina-Ala, Benue State, which was founded in 1915. The event, organised by the Katsina-Ala Old Boys Association, will hold on October 19 at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre, Abuja. Governors of Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kogi and Cross River states have been invited. The association's President, Chief Anthony Adda, blamed long-standing neglect by the authorities for the school's condition. He said Danjuma renovated all five hostels about three years ago, but classrooms dating from 1967 have not been touched. Adda also raised concerns about encroachment on the school's land and the sale of staff quarters.
