MAKURDI — The Executive Director of the Climate and Green World Foundation, Dr Ike Anosike, has urged the Federal Government to include full climate change education in the national school curriculum. He made the call during awareness lectures in secondary schools in Makurdi, Benue State. Anosike said the content should be age-appropriate and practical, covering climate science, adaptation, renewable energy and sustainable farming, as well as flooding, drought, desertification, erosion and disaster risk reduction. He also recommended practical skills such as waste management, recycling, tree planting and energy efficiency, and suggested environmental clubs and school gardens. His team planted trees at schools including Christ Anglican College, High Level, Makurdi. He called for learning materials and teacher training to support the effort.
