ABUJA — The Federal Government has digitised the selection of winners for its teachers' awards for the first time, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, has said. Briefing journalists ahead of World Teachers' Day, she said certificate verification has also been automated so that foreign employers can check Nigerian credentials online. Responding to the UK's removal of Nigeria from the direct route to Qualified Teacher Status, she said Nigeria had received no formal notice from the UK. She said 14 teachers would be honoured, with the top three receiving cars, the best Unity College a bus and others laptops.
