The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Tansian University, Anambra State, Prof. Nnamdi Dike Umeoduagu, has died at the age of 44. Umeoduagu, a professor of microbiology, was previously the university's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly. The university's Registrar dismissed reports that he served as acting Vice-Chancellor for only two days, explaining that he had acted for about two months, from when the substantive Vice-Chancellor went on medical leave until that tenure ended on September 30, 2026. The university expressed its condolences to his family.
