UMUAHIA — The Abia State Government is training teachers to use digital tools in its new technology-equipped primary schools. The training is being delivered by Blue Giraffe Development Ltd, whose Managing Director, Orieji Okwara-Emele, said rote learning is no longer the best way to prepare children. Teachers receive laptops and smart boards, while pupils use tablets and are introduced to artificial intelligence, robotics, coding and virtual reality. The state now has 20 digital primary schools across 17 local government areas. Abia allocates 20 per cent of its budget to education under Governor Alex Otti.
