KASU Lecturers Suspend Strike as Kaduna Approves 2025 Agreement

KADUNA — The Kaduna State University (KASU) branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its strike with effect from 12:01am on September 18, following a congress on September 17. The union said Governor Uba Sani had approved the implementation and domestication of the 2025 FGN-ASUU agreement from October 2026, as well as payment of nine months of arrears covering January to September. The communique was signed by the branch chairman, Abubakar Abdullahi, and secretary, Silas Amos Bakut. The union said its members faced no intimidation during the strike and apologised to students for the disruption.
