GUSAU — Workers in Zamfara State tertiary institutions have threatened to go on strike over unmet demands. The Forum of Zamfara State Tertiary Institutions (FOZASTI) gave the state government a two-week ultimatum in a statement signed by its chairman, Yusuf Magaji Mada. The workers are demanding implementation of the CONPCASS and CONTEDISS salary scales, payment of the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance and Earned Academic Allowances, and overdue promotions. The forum said it may begin a strike when the ultimatum expires but remains open to dialogue. Chapter chairmen were asked to brief their members and maintain unity.
