ABUJA — The Federal Ministry of Education has released the final Ranked and Approved Textbooks list for 2026 to 2028, with a QR tracking code for each title. The first phase covers Primary 1, Primary 4, JSS1 and SS1, while the second phase will cover Primary 2, Primary 5, JSS2 and SS2. Schools and procurement agencies have been directed to buy only from the official list. The release goes ahead despite a lawsuit filed in August 2026 by the Nigerian Publishers Association at the Federal High Court, Ibadan, against the Federal Government and the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council. The association has described the policy as obnoxious.
