SOKOTO — The Sokoto State Government has pledged to support Muhammad Sirajo Abubakar, a 16-year-old orphan who scored 353 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. He scored 92 in Mathematics, 67 in English, 98 in Physics and 96 in Chemistry, and his WAEC result shows three As, four Bs and a C, with Biology still awaited. He hopes to study Mechatronics Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isa Muhammad Maishanu, saw his story online and asked the state JAMB coordinator, Ibrahim Muazu Hassan, to bring him to the ministry, where he was received on Tuesday. According to a statement by the ministry's spokesman, Ibrahim Iya, the ministry will review his situation and arrange support for his education.
