ABUJA — The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, says questions for NECO examinations were allegedly sold for as little as N3,000 before the papers were written. Speaking at a meeting with the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) and other stakeholders, Alausa described the scale of examination malpractice in the country as mind-boggling. He recalled that leaked questions were sent to him during the 2025 examinations and were verified as genuine. He blamed the problem on collusion among parents, schools, teachers, invigilators and principals. The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, said the use of serialised question papers would make leaked questions harder to use, and urged schools to complete their curricula on time.
