ABUJA — The Bursar of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Mallam Nasiru Gusau Marafa, has been shot dead in Zamfara State. In a notice signed by the Registrar, Oladipo Adetayo Ajayi, the university said Marafa was attacked while returning from Gusau on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The university did not give details of the location or circumstances of the attack, or say whether any suspects had been identified. NOUN mourned him as a dedicated administrator and said burial arrangements would be announced later.
