ABUJA — The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has called for anti-corruption studies to be included in the school curriculum. The commission's Head of Youth and Children Engagement, Godswill Basheer, said the ICPC is working with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) to review the national values curriculum, including the ethical use of technology. Speaking on a programme marking World Literacy Day, he called for civic subjects to be made compulsory, with practical lessons on integrity. He said the commission runs Students Anti-Corruption Clubs in primary and secondary schools and Anti-Corruption Vanguards in tertiary institutions. Basheer urged students to reject, resist and report corruption, and warned them against cyber fraud.
