LAGOS — Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has urged young Nigerians to embrace digital and technical skills and create opportunities for themselves. The acting Director of the college's Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations, Adekunle Adams, spoke at Catalyst Shift 1.0, an event organised by the Ayo Lawal Empowerment Foundation at the Yusuf Grillo Auditorium. He encouraged young people to keep upgrading their skills and develop an entrepreneurial mindset, but warned against using artificial intelligence as a substitute for their own judgement. He cited YABATECH programmes, including the Folawiyo Entrepreneurship Centre, as examples of opportunities available to students. The convener, Ayo Lawal, said the mentorship programme had run online for more than five years and was now moving to in-person sessions.
