LAGOS — The University of Lagos (UNILAG) will host a combined event on October 29 featuring the premiere of 'LG Billions in the Dark', an investigative documentary on local government finances in Osun State, and the launch of the Development Reporting Africa Foundation. The plan was announced during a courtesy visit to the university by DevReporting's Managing Editor, Christiana Alabi-Akande, and Associate Editor, Samson Ademola. The documentary was produced with support from the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development's Local Media Sustainability Fund and the Royal Norwegian Embassy. Ademola said local governments receive less public scrutiny than federal and state governments. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, praised development-focused journalism and welcomed the partnership.
