YOLA — The Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) has urged teachers to be more efficient and professional in support of the state's data-driven education reforms. The board's Acting Executive Secretary, Birsan Penuel, spoke in Yola at a sensitisation and training session on updating school records and teacher data in secondary schools. He said accurate data would help government plan and prioritise interventions in education, and asked principals to pass on the training to other teachers in their schools. Penuel credited Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for the reforms and said the board supports the goal of zero tolerance for out-of-school children in the state. The Adamawa Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Faisal Muhammed Abubakar, said the board requests staff data every year and the digital process would make collection easier. Sanusi Idris Medugu of Satlink said the programme teaches participants to enrol themselves digitally and capture accurate staff information.
