LAGOS — The Young African Bookworms Initiative (YBWorms) has received approval from the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to extend its Paragon Train Club to four more public primary schools. Five low-income private primary schools in Ikorodu have also approved the programme, bringing the number of new schools to nine. The club was already running in five schools in Lagos. The Paragon Train Club is a structured social, emotional and ethical learning programme for primary school pupils, focusing on empathy, decision-making, leadership and resilience. Teachers in the participating schools will be trained as facilitators and will run weekly sessions together with the YBWorms team. The organisation's Programmes Manager, Omotola Oni, described the approval as a vote of confidence in its work. YBWorms is seeking partners and funders to support the expansion.
